Bye Bye 2010..

They say it’s never too late. There I go taking a stroll down the memory lane. It’s been long I was away and this is the time to refresh each moment. Year 2010 is gone. We have even spent 8 days in 2011 as well. Time flies. A lot happened last year but an event that happened few days before was my friends wedding. Two of my very good friends bonded with each other for good and decided to bare each other’s soul…lol.. Not to forget, I am their BEST FRIEND. Hehe.

The wedding events started from the 27th of November 2010 and ended on the 2nd December 2010 morning after “lasha ki doli” reached next door. Yeah as I mentioned before, they stay opposite each others house. The days were full of fun and were tedious as a lot of running happened. However, it was worth it. We danced; we partied, did what not. God bless the two and I pray and wish for a happy married life for them.

The month was a good start. After the wedding, I got an assignment in Steria, Noida. It is a BPO and I cracked the so called certification to get in there. I joined on the 6th of December and believe you me; it was a task to reach Noida on the first day. One, getting up early and to top it all, travelling all the way to Noida in the Metro. It was cold and I was sleepy and then I took the first metro to Rajiv Chowk. From there, I changed to the blue line to take the second one for Noida City centre. I did not know where to get off as Noida had multiple stations starting from Noida sector 15 to Noida City Centre. I called Pooja, my colleague for her assistance. She advised me to get down at the last station and take a rickshaw from there to sector 57, where our office is.

Finally, I reached there and started to look for an auto rickshaw. I was shocked hearing the price these guys charged and was disappointed knowing that Noida auto guys have a trend of taking 2-3 passengers together on the same route. It’s unlike Delhi. Here we commute alone. It’s really annoying for me. Any how I convinced the auto guy to take me alone for which I had to pay Rs.10 extra. I reached at work and waited for someone to take me inside.

Shweta Bali, a pretty, simple and sweet girl came towards me while talking on the phone. I was standing at the main gate and looking at her. I thought she came to help me with the gate pass but she continued to talk on the phone. She looked at me but had no expression. I turned my face to avoid looking foolish, if she wasn’t looking for me. Two minutes later, she asked, “Are you Priyanka?” I said, “Yes”. We greeted each other and walked towards the security guard to get my gate pass.

Preeti and Pooja were already hired and had started working a week before we did. Sunanda, Nikita and I joined on the 6th and Kim joined a day later. We are all letter experts at Steria helping one of their UK clients to get things in place. We are now a big gang. Preeti left as her contract got over on the 23rd of December. We miss her company though.

We all bond well and have pretty good time at work if we don’t consider the letters we check. Lol. No, it’s fun working with these girls. We are known as the “HIT SQUAD” team at Steria. We laugh, dance, share jokes, pull each others leg while we work and believe me, I have worked before but working with all girls around could be so much fun, I had never thought. I know this assignment will last soon and I will miss each one of them terribly. Specially Sunanda as she’s my darling. She’s adorable. Will miss you all though. I actually feel that we all part to meet again and that happiness then, is not to be compared. Since the world is too small, I am sure after we part, we will meet again.

Three cheers to the HIT SQUAD team, hip hip hurraayyy. We rock!!
